2020 takes its toll on Jeanologia

Specialist textile finishing technology provider Jeanologia has told business media in Spain that its revenues for 2020 could be down by more than half compared to the figure for 2019.

Jeanologia’s turnover last year was €106 million, but founder, Enrique Silla, has said the figure for 2020 could be closer to €50 million. It has cut its workforce around the world by 50 to around 220 employees.

Mr Silla said he was more optimistic about 2021, but he warned that next year is also likely to be volatile for business.

He said Jeanologia has plans to open a development centre in Miami in the early part of next year to add to facilities of this kind that it already has in locations such as Hong Kong, Turkey, Brazil, India and Bangladesh.
