New ‘denim’ Air Jordans hark back to 2008 Levi’s collab

Seemingly in a nod to the Levi’s x Air Jordan 1 “23/501” denim pack collaboration from 2008, which saw 2,323 pairs of Air Jordan 1 sneakers released in an elephant print selvedge denim (complete with a red Levi’s tab) and red leather combination, Jordan Brand has teased a new version of its Air Jordan 1 Mid footwear, reimagined in a “denim” colourway.
Notably, bluish grey, slightly striped denim covers the toebox, quarter and collar, whereas familiar red suede with beige-brown contrast stitching (reminiscent of leather jeans back patches) features over the mudguard, eyestays, heel and collar flaps. Nike’s Swoosh logo is presented in the same brownish beige colour, this time with red contrast stitching.
While the 2008 version was released alongside jeans and a t-shirt, the new mid-cut shoes are due to debut this summer as a standalone style.
