US cotton apparel imports up by more than one-third

Imports into the US of apparel made from cotton, including denim, increased in volume by more than 35% in the first nine months of 2021.

Figures from the Office of Textiles and Apparel at the US Department of Commerce’s international trade administration show that the US imported a volume of more than 9 billion square-metres equivalent of cotton-based apparel between January and September 2021.
