Arvind’s innovative dyeing solutions

New developments from the Arvind Denim Lab are on show today at Kingpins NY. The India-based vertically integrated manufacturer has explored several novel dyeing processes with CleanKore and Quantum.
Arvind has been developing denim fabrics dyed using the patented CleanKore process for two years now. “It saves significant amounts of water, chemicals, energy and process times, at both fabric and garment manufacturing stages,” Ashutosh Bhargava, senior marketing manager for Arvind, told Inside Denim. It makes denims “laser-friendly” and is a good solution for brands looking to move towards waterless laser finishing, he says.
Quantum Indigo is the company’s name for a foam-dyeing process, which is applied in a nitrogen chamber, and thus requires very little water, said Mr Bhargava. He added that Arvind is one of the few companies in the world to have this type of machine. Denims and jeans dyed using its Quantum process are also highly compatible with laser finishing. This avoids many of the chemicals (PP, bleach, etc.) that are used in conventional laundering processes, he added.
