Transformers ED Pakistan tackles circularity

13/09/2022
Denim industry innovation platform Transformers Foundation’s latest round of student-centred talks, Transformers ED Pakistan, have commenced online.

The two-day, English-language event runs from September 13 through 14 and will focus on the Pakistani denim supply chain, organised under two overarching themes: recycling and circularity, and the denim-making process.

Once again sponsored by manufacturers Crescent Bahuman and Diamond Denim by Sapphire, day one has a particular emphasis on textile-to-textile recycling and post-consumer textile waste, featuring input from Net Zero Pakistan, AGI Denim, Artistic Fabric Mills and Beyond Retro (Bank and Vogue), alongside the organiser and its sponsors. Co-founder at Diamond Denim, Ali Abdullah, will present a live factory tour of the firm’s recycling plant.

Day two will see presentations on “new” natural fibres, trend forecasting, design and a brand interview with Levi’s vice-president of product development and sourcing for South Asia and East Africa, Zubair Aslam.
