Transformers creates tool to boost transparency

Transformers Foundation has launched what it calls the “first tool of its kind” to help businesses and consumers understand the environmental impact of their products.
The Transformers Transparency Tool (TTT) provides a view of a product's supply chain, impact calculation, compliance information and supplier surveys.
It collects information on energy usage, water usage, greenhouse gas emissions and chemicals, and calculates a product's overall environmental impact.
Suppliers can share information with customers and use the platform to make sustainability decisions. TTT is also accessible to brands by invitation from fabric mills, garment makers and laundries.
The owner of the data is the individual or organisation that created it and holds the rights to it. They have the authority to use and share the data as they see fit and may restrict access to it from other parties.
TTT has been built in collaboration with Natific, a Swiss company that provides digital solutions for supply chains.
Andrew Olah, founder of Transformers Foundation, said: "Our goal is to provide businesses and consumers with the accurate information they need to make informed decisions about the products they buy. The TTT is an important step towards measuring our impact in a real way."
You can find out more about the TTT on the Transformers site.
