Since 1998, the Capo d’Orlando prize seeks to highlight achievements in science and innovation. This year the prize for science and manufacturing went to Alberto Candiani “for the forward-looking guidance of his company, a symbol of Made in Italy in the fashion industry, and for combining innovative production technologies and environmental preservation”. One example of the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability is the patented Coreva stretch yarn, which is biodegradable and compostable.
Award winners for the 2022 edition, the 24th, include Emmanuelle Charpentier, Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2020 and Director of the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Berlin, for Science.
