Tonello-Candiani research leads to O-Zone
Among the developments introduced during the most recent Kingpins24 Global, which ran between October 19 and 21, was a new garment finishing technology by Italy’s Tonello.

The Vicenza-based technology provider launched O-Zone, described as “a new leap in quality”, in partnership with Milan’s Candiani Denim.

With O-Zone, Tonello said, garments are treated inside a touchscreen-operated, cabinet-like space that allows for aesthetic customisation such as localised discolouration and lightening, sun-faded looks and degradé effects.

It has been designed to work in small batches and, therefore, is ideal for direct research and experimentation on the garment itself, Tonello added.

A spokesperson for Candiani commented: “Tonello’s new O-Zone cabinet is the perfect demonstration of how research and collaboration between leading companies can result in true innovation, always driven by sustainability.

“We can say without any doubt that we opened the path to a new way ozone can be applied. In fact, O-Zone allows us to get completely new and sustainable washing effects.”
