Tonello’s new ozone tech further streamlines denim finishing
Italian technology developer Tonello has unveiled EGO, an efficient new ozone finishing system built for output of up to 3,000 grams per hour, yet “even simpler” to use and maintain than ever before.
All steps take place inside a single machine capable of dry, humid or wet treatment, the dissolution of ozone in water and, crucially, OBleach, the Vicenza-based company’s patented ozone-only process for obtaining “authentic” bleached effects on denim without any chemical additives. OBleach relies on the firm's own water-reducing Core nebulisation technology.
EGO, which stands for Enhanced Garment Ozonation, can itself lower water consumption by up to 80% versus conventional bleaching methods, according to Tonello. The new machine forms a key, strategic addition to its sustainably minded All-in-One laundry system, the developer adds, which already integrates its ECOfree2, NoStone, UP and Core technologies inside the one machine.
