Soorty spotlights responsible innovation with Tonello in New York
Pakistan-based vertical denim company Soorty is hosting a two-day series of workshops and talks on “Responsible Innovation for A Better Tomorrow,” at its creative showroom SpaceD located in New York City on July 18 and 19.

To kick off the open house, Soorty staged a panel talk on the importance of partnerships in achieving SDGs moderated by Ebru Debbag, its head of sales & marketing. Speakers include Alice Tonello, marketing and R&D director at Tonello, Ebru Özaydin, who leads The Lycra Company’s denim group, and Tricia Carey, head of global development for denim and the Americas at Lenzing Group.

Tonello and Soorty will be presenting a new collection, a result of a collaboration to develop the most sustainable products backed by data and comparing conventional laundry methods with the technologies and machines developed by Tonello. The Italian machine maker’s Metro software programme measures water, chemicals and energy use and can give each product an individual score. “Metro lets you set your sustainable goals and decide which elements to work on to improve your efficiency,” said a company spokesperson.
