Five pairs of $11,995 ‘escapewear’ jeans enter the Frame

Californian contemporary brand Frame, well-known for its denim, has made five pairs of what is calling “the world’s most luxurious jean” available for purchase, for $11,995 apiece, as part of a 19-piece “escapewear” capsule designed in collaboration with stylist and British Vogue fashion director Julia Sarr-Jamois.
Each straight-leg, oversized pair weighs around five pounds or just under 2.3 kilograms, thanks to the 50,000 tonal Swarovski crystals which cover the 100% cotton denim fabric, dyed a chocolate brown, front and back. Work on each low-slung, slouchy pair took 120 hours to complete by hand, Frame said.
Earthy tie-dyes, camouflage-print 100% cotton cargo trousers and brightly hued “artisanal crochet” knit details, including along the waist and pocket edges of a Y2K-inspired, distressed blue jean style called Airwaves, only serve to add extra zest to an already free-spirited, adventurous collection.
