Metallic finishes and cracked effects among Montega’s updated offerings
Textile finishing effects developer Montega Chemical Solutions has updated its signature products, including Croco Surface, which enables a special cracked surface on garments.
The Italian company, which also makes chemicals and technology for the laundry and cleaning sectors, has developed a special binder that also allows the finish to be combined with its Montedel Natural Dye range.
It has also created a new version of ‘Mine Effect’, which creates a metallic look on denim.
Montega spokesperson Lucia D’Angelo tells Inside Denim: “The treatments with these products are many: Croco Surface requires application directly on the garment, while Mine 58 has application in machine. When we formulate products we look for high-performance binders on every type of fibre so every type of fabric can be treated.
“All the applications have been realised with low environmental impact applications, with reduced water and energy: this is the trend that has characterised every new product by Montega and every remake revisited in a sustainable way.
“There is no environmental sustainability without economic sustainability, so we offer chemistry that follows ZDHC and GOTS specifications with recipes that involve the use of ever lower temperatures, therefore energy, ultimately reducing costs.”
Montega offers a showroom for clients to see examples of its products, and attends denim-focused events including Denim PV and Bluezone.
