US jeansmaker Detroit Denim to close

Made-in-USA jeansmaker Detroit Denim has taken the decision to shutter its doors after 14 years
Its founders, Eric Yelsma and Brenna Lane, announced the decision “with full hearts” in January. The company specialised in raw selvedge denims and leathergoods.
“While saying goodbye is bittersweet, we are looking forward to more time with family, having weekends off and finally going on a honeymoon,” the husband-and-wife duo explained. All current orders will be fulfilled, and repairs completed, although no new repair projects will be taken on.
There will be a final run 100 pairs of jeans for existing customers, the brand added, plus short runs of bags, aprons and small leathergoods as it works through its remaining fabric stocks.
The business’ Cass location in midtown Detroit is due to close for good on February 10.
