US hemp plant begins production

The 500,000-square-foot gin has the capacity to process 10 metric tons of industrial hemp per hour.
It will use every part of the industrial hemp stalk, and operates solely on renewable energy.
Dixie Carter, president of Panda Biotech, said: "As research and development in this area continue to advance, industrial hemp fibre and cellulose will help transform numerous industries with sustainable goals and challenges.”
The company has committed to processing only US-grown hemp straw, and provides a pay-to-grow programme for farmers.
