Envoy Textiles, a Bangladesh-based textile manufacturer, which operates a LEED Platinum-certified denim textile mill, has announced plans to establish a Waste Fabric Recycling Plant at its existing factory located in Bhaluka, Mymensingh, about 120 km north of Dhaka. The plant, which should be operational in June of 2025, will recycle both local and in-house pre-industrial and post-consumer waste fabrics. The new plant will have a capacity of treating 12 tonnes of waste fabrics daily, it said.

The company currently processes 130 tonnes of waste per month, and holds certifications from Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and Recycled Claim Standard (RCS). With the new project, the company aims to recycle some 350 tonnes of waste fabric monthly.

Envoy Textiles has stated that the total project investment is estimated to be BDT 237.04 million (roughly €1.8 million) funded through a debt-to-equity ratio of 70:30.

Its current annual production capacity is 54 million yards of fabrics.
