Lycra, RE&UP and Arvind take to Copenhagen stage
The Global Fashion Summit is under way in Copenhagen (June 3 to 6), under the theme ‘Barriers and Bridges’, which represents where “traditional barriers have the possibility to transform into bridges for change”.
Among speakers at the event are Lycra CEO Gary Smith and Qore CEO Jon Veldhouse, who will present Lycra’s partially biobased elastane. The newly constructed Qore site in Eddyville, Iowa, began operating last month and has started producing QIRA, a bio-based building block of elastane. The company will host a grand opening celebration in July.
Other speakers include Arvind’s Abhishek Bansal, Andreas Dorner and Ebru Özküçük Güler from RE&UP, Katrin Ley from Fashion for Good, Beth Jensen from Textile Exchange and Krishna Manda of Lenzing Group.
