Officina’s ZeroPP goes ‘all in’
Described as the “definitive product to replace potassium permanganate”, and now successfully scaled, Officina39 has officially launched its ZeroPP|ALL.IN solution. It offers mills a one-product/one-cycle solution that is applied directly on raw garments and is said to significantly improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Like many legacy finishing processes in denim, PP remains in use by mills looking for low-cost fading solutions. Officina39’s ZeroPP|ALL.IN proposes a cleaner alternative that involves four steps. The solution is first sprayed on garments or applied via nebulisation, this is followed by laser markings to define wear patterns, or graphics. Garments then directly undergo a dry ozone treatment, without requiring a rinsing phase, so that the ozone react with the laser markings to create PP effect fades. The last steps are the final washes. The entire process is time, energy and water-saving, the company said, while ensuring safe working conditions for laundry employees.

“ZeroPP|ALL.IN represents the fulfilment of a path we began years ago,” commented Andrea Venier, Officina39 managing director. “Through continuous refinement, real-world testing, and feedback from our customers and partners, we’ve achieved a true turning point. The result is a streamlined, single-product process applied directly to raw garments, finally making the full replacement of potassium permanganate both sustainable and industrially viable.”
