Soko & Soorty agree on Purity

Italian sustainable chemicals company Soko and Pakistan-based denim mill Soorty have collaborated on the development of a collection that highlights the potential of cleaner denim processing, without sacrificing authenticity or style. The Purity Collection features a curated selection of fabrics made by Soorty and makes use of Soko’s innovative and low impact finishing solutions. The range features Soorty’s Bourneville Mars Blue, Godzilla Paradise Blue, and Nagano Spice Blue denim fabrics.
Instead of the traditional and hazardous garment treatment – from sodium hypochlorite and potassium permanganate to pumice stones – Purity Collection products were treated with sustainable alternatives such as Soko Authentica and Soko Lumia. “With the Purity Collection, we want to prove that achieving fashionable, commercially appealing aesthetics is possible without compromising environmental integrity,” said Luca Braschi, head of technology and marketing at Soko.
Switching to Soko’s cleaner finishing solutions also helps Soorty achieve its own environmental goals related to its Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, which are validated by SBTi.
The collection will be on view at Kingpins April 16 & 17.
