Circular denim challenge for Mexican fashion students
Mexican denim manufacturer Global Denim has collaborated with the fashion programme of the Universidad Anáhuac México, in Oaxaca. Guided by company creative director Anatt Finkler, 21 students enrolled in the fashion and innovation course took part in the pedagogical and creative Circular Denim Moda Anáhuac México, the official name of the project.

Students were introduced to the specificities of denim, from cotton cultivation to innovation in low impact dyeing, and to more responsible design practices such as zero-waste patterns. Based on the insights gained, they were then asked to create 15 designs, three of which were selected for actual production.

“Beyond the garments themselves, this project instilled in students a critical and informed perspective on their future roles as designers—creatives with conscience, capable of offering real solutions to the challenges facing the fashion industry,” the company stated.
