Second-hand clothing movement is ‘powerful’, ThredUp CEO says
Online clothing resale platform for apparel, ThredUp has revealed that it helped find new owners for 2.3 million second-hand items in 2024.
In the course of last year, California-based ThredUp also expanded the number of brands it works with to 50. Denim-focused brands that signed up to use the platform’s ‘resale-as-a-service’ model included Reformation, Madewell and Gap.
“What began 16 years ago as a simple belief in a better way to experience fashion has evolved and grown into a powerful, undeniable movement,” said ThredUp’s founder and chief executive, James Reinhart.
