OVS commits to Cotton made in Africa
Italian retailer OVS is joining the ranks of companies that source Aid by Trade’s Cotton made in Africa (CmiA). Since the beginning of 2025, it has brought to market nearly 2.5 million items of clothing, mainly denim, that are made from the GMO-free certified cotton source.

Simone Colombo, head of sustainability, said that OVS Group chose Cotton made in Africa to further expand the company’s commitment to better source the most important fibre in its collections. The styles in which all cotton is CmiA-verified can carry the “Cotton made in Africa Inside” label. Its presence ensures that the fibres are physically traceable throughout the entire value chain using the Hard Identity Preserved (HIP) system recently introduced by the Aid by Trade Foundation.
