Suppliers respond to race for protection
A growing number of denim mills, brands and retailers are adding antimicrobial or ‘antiviral’ protection to fabrics, to serve a perceived desire from consumers to feel safer from viruses and bacteria in light of the current coronavirus pandemic.

When chemicals maker Archroma and Sanitized teamed up with Pakistan-based mill Soorty (pictured), Soorty’s executive director Asad Soorty said: “We need to explore every possibility not only to create beautiful and fashionable denim but also to help protect our customers and the consumers.”
