Carbon-zero Tencel: an 'urgent' measure
Speaking at Kingpins24 Amsterdam, Michael Kininmonth, a member of Lenzing Group’s denim team, announced carbon-zero Tencel. (Tencel is a wood-based cellulosic fibre, created from the pulp of sustainably sourced trees.)

Verified carbon-zero Tencel can be ordered for a range of Tencel fibres, which allows for its marketing as a carbon zero product, but there is “no difference in physical fibre properties”.

Kininmonth presented the innovation as a next generation, sustainable “solution” for the textile industry, which he says urgently needs to address its carbon emissions.

Lenzing hopes to reduce its carbon emissions by 50% by 2030.
