Iskur Denim's 'Earth squad' lands at Denim PV

Turkey-based Iskur Denim elaborated on its sustainably minded “Earth squad” concept (intended to “protect nature”) while presenting its SS22 collection during Première Vision’s Digital Denim Week in early December.
The mill highlighted its fully integrated, on-site BCI- and GOTS-certified cotton (Iskur also uses CmiA cotton), in-house yarn recycling and renewable energy efforts - such as solar and wind power - as well as its We Are Water (WAW) technology (which Iskur aims to rollout across all denim pieces produced by the end of 2021). WAW reduces water consumption during the indigo-dyeing process by 95%.
“Earth squad” fibres include Tencel (a wood-based cellulosic fibre), modal, hemp, linen and soy protein.
For SS22, Iskur introduced its Soft Breeze and Free Move lines. Whereas Soft Breeze has been woven for comfort and “permanent” softness (“without compromising the denim look”) through “innovative” weaving and yarn production techniques, the “very comfortable”, knit-look Free Move collection has been designed for homewear, streetwear and sportswear.
