Tree planting will help Kipas towards a carbon-positive 2030

                        The company measured its carbon footprint and looked at ways to reduce it, including sourcing all energy from renewable sources and a process that neutralises wastewater with carbon dioxide.
Speaking at the Kingpins 24 Flash event, Halit Gumuser, managing director of the textile division at Kipas, said: "We calculated that we need to plant 500,000 trees, and made an agreement with the government. We have already planted 100,000. In five years’ time we will have 500,000 growing, so we will be one of the first textiles companies to have a positive impact on carbon footprint.”
Kipas is one of the members of the EU-backed New Cotton Project, alongside Infinited Fiber Company, manufacturers Inovafil and Tekstina and brand H&M and adidas.
