Kipas signs Dutch Denim Deal
Turkish denim mill Kipas Textiles recently added its signature to the Dutch Denim Deal, a public-private initiative organised in response to the European Green Deal and Circular Economy Action Plan.

The addition of Kipas means that the deal now has almost 40 signatories from across the denim industry, all of whom are committed to incorporating a minimum of 5% recycled fibres in their denim.

As part of the deal, Kipas also committed to making at least 3 million pairs of jeans with a minimum of 20% post-consumer recycled cotton content, which it said would help it contribute towards the formation of a more circular denim value chain overall.

The mill highlighted its pride over the decision, with a spokesperson commenting: “This partnership emphasises our mission to reduce the amount of industrial waste through a reduce, reuse and recycle strategy.”

It said it hoped to help “futureproof” the fashion industry from taking this step.
