Kipas and Blue Matters unveil collaboration

Turkish denim mill Kipas Textiles and Blue Matters, a “green” production and washing facility launched by Ereks Garment and Era Denim last year, recently collaborated on what Ereks described as a holistic and sustainable denim collection.

Crafted with Kipas-made denim, reportedly produced using “regenerative sourcing strategies” that aim to consume less resources, Ereks said that the range took shape in line with circular processes and with technical innovation in mind. “All” manufacturing data was collected and monitored during production, the company added.

Washed at Blue Matters’ facility using “beyond blue” techniques and, therefore, 60% less water and energy than conventional methods, Ereks emphasised its “conscious” approach to chemistry.

The entire collection has been produced with laser and ozone technology (plus 100% renewable energy), for example, without the use of potassium permanganate or pumice stones.

Further, all chemicals applied to the garments have been certified in accordance with Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) level three gateway principles.
