Jeanologia calls latest robot system ‘revolutionary’
Denim sector technology company Jeanologia has launched a system that has been three years in the making and which it describes as “the future of textile manufacturing”.

The Handman combines two robots and eight lasers, and when worked by two operatives, can finish 10,000 jeans per day, according to the company.

It said the system is easy to load, automatically positions garments, is quick and precise and the garments are then carried to bins.

Enrique Silla, CEO of Jeanologia, said the industry should look to sectors such as automotive, which use a lot of automation and robots in production.

“This is a revolution. It changes relationship between brand, retailer and manufacturer,” he said. “The brands will be able to communicate with Handman and the production centre. The designer will have direct contact with production centres in Asia. Consumers and manufacturers will be connected and the brands will become creative platforms.”

He also suggested the development could lead to bigger, mass-production factories and a new way of working.
