BAM became climate positive in 2020

UK-based Bamboo Clothing (BAM), home of “fully” recycled (only the metal teeth need to be cut out) 73 Zero jeans, recently released its 2021 annual report.
The report reveals that BAM became climate positive last year. Reportedly, the company was able to offset 100% of emissions linked to the lifecycle of its apparel. It also offset 50 customer washes for each item of clothing sold.
84% of the raw materials used in the production of BAM garments are natural, renewable and grown without pesticides, the brand said, with its dark indigo (to save water and reduce chemical usage) denim jeans meeting “every” one of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation Jeans Redesign guidelines.
BAM also became a “friend” of the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Foundation in 2020, which the company said will help it support ZDHC in its work on safer chemistry, better chemical management and lower emissions, as well as roll out the Amsterdam-headquartered foundation’s guidelines and “solutions” across its supply base.
