What’s in store for UK-made denim?
Hewitt Heritage Fabrics’ UK-woven selvedge has been used in recent collections from Hiut, Joe & Co and United Overalls, following a long journey to find the right partners and suppliers, and achieve the desired specifications.

Following on from this, founder Chris Hewitt is now also developing a recycled cotton and wool selvedge denim and working on his new brand, Somebody’s Denim, due to launch in time for spring-summer 2022.

The idea of bringing denim and jeans manufacturing back to the UK is also one that appeals to David Hieatt, co-founder of Welsh jeansmaker and brand Hiut.

We assess the likelihood of a UK comeback in our feature article, From deckchairs to denim, in the features section of the website.
