Online searches for jeans beat ‘WFH bottoms’ in May
New York-headquartered trend analytics platform Trendalytics recently noted how around 2 million would-be consumers used the keyword “jeans” to search and shop online each week in May 2021, as opposed to the 940,000 average weekly searches for “WFH [working from home] bottoms” (including leggings, sweatpants and jogging bottoms) recorded by the company over the same period.
In a new market insights report, Trendalytics found that search interest for homeworking staples is relatively flat compared to 2020, representing a 2% decline on last year.
By contrast, the number of searchers looking for jeans online was up 33% on May 2020. The platform also said that searches for the iconic denim garment were up 13% compared to the same period in 2019.
