Dhaka to host denim expo and sustainability forum
The twelfth edition of the Bangladesh Denim Expo is set to run between May 10 and 11, 2022, at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka.
The third edition of the Sustainable Apparel Forum will also be held alongside the expo on May 10.
Commenting on the announcement, managing director of Chattogram-based manufacturer Denim Expert and founder and chief executive of the Bangladesh Apparel Exchange, Mostafiz Uddin, described how the pandemic had forced the industry to “realise the importance of sustainability in fashion more than ever”.
Mr Uddin framed the dual events as intended to support the redefinition of “fashion as it should be”. He suggested that the industry should embrace the opportunity to think “beyond business” and more about lives - and livelihoods.
