Bangladesh-based denim producer Denim Expert has been shortlisted for a Thomson Reuters Foundation Stop Slavery Enterprise Award, the company announced recently.

Denim Expert is one of five nominees in the small- and medium-sized companies’ category. 

Owner and managing director of Denim Expert, Mostafiz Uddin (pictured), commented: “Workers are the drivers of the fashion industry. But the paradox is their rights are often ignored by the industry. 

“We are committed to ensuring the rights and wellbeing of our workers, as well as a decent work environment for them. We are contributing towards ending slavery and social inequality by promoting inclusivity.”
