Bestseller has “remarkable year”

Sales at Danish fashion and denim group Bestseller grew 9% from August 2020 to July 2021, reaching DKK 26.4 billion (or €3.5 billion). This is the best year in the company’s history, it said. Profits before taxes were DKK 4.6 billion (or €618 million). It signals a return to better times as the company’s sales were halved during the previous year when lockdowns had shops closed for long lengths of time.

The family-owned retailer can count on a network of 2,523 of its own or partner-owned stores. Its portfolio of 20 brands includes Only, Jack & Jones and Vero Moda.

Bestseller CEO and owner Anders Holch Povlsen commented: “It has been a remarkable year, which has surprised many, including us. We are truly thankful that we are standing where we are now.”
