MIM Tangiers readies for a strong edition

The next edition of Maroc in Mode (MIM), a trade show for the fashion and denim industry, will take place December 14 to 16, in Tangiers, Morocco. Companies from all stages of the apparel supply chain will be exhibiting, from fabric mills to garment makers and including machine makers, accessories and services.
Organised by the Moroccan Association of Textile and Apparel Industries (AMITH), since 2003, this upcoming edition will be the event’s 19th session. At its March edition earlier this year, the twice-yearly show featured some 160 exhibitors, from Morocco and abroad, and close to 1500 visitors attended the event.
Dayem, an Arabic word for sustainability, is the main theme for the event, and a key concern for manufacturers located in Morocco and North Africa in general. Jeans makers, from The Denim Authority to Blue Fingers and Larimode have taken great measures to reduce the impacts of their processes.
Disruptions in the denim supply chain in the past few years have brought a number of European brands to return production, or a portion of their production, to manufacturers located in the EuroMed region. This, in addition to the lower carbon footprint of producing “locally”, has boosted the appeal of the region’s manufacturers.
