'First’ 100% Moroccan jeans firm opens doors

Moroccan denim brand Blue Five recently opened the doors to its first retail space, sited in the city of Casablanca’s eastern Aïn Sebaâ arrondissement.
Local media described the firm, which offers men’s, women’s and childrenswear, as “the first 100% Moroccan jeans brand” and said that the store marks the first in a series of retail locations planned for cities across the country.
The vertically integrated company reportedly boasts “innovative and environmentally friendly” denim jeans which are not only competitively priced (around $32 for a pair of women’s jeans, according to its website), but can also provide “reliable” quality and delivery.
Jeans articles currently live on the brand’s site are largely composed of either cotton-elastane blends or cotton, lyocell and elastane.
According to Moroccan media, Blue Five employs over 1,000 skilled textile workers. It has deliberately aligned its business model with the ‘made in Morocco’ and local consumption strategies jointly conceptualised by the country’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Moroccan Association of the Textile and Apparel Industries and, therefore, is proud to be “the first 100% Moroccan jeans brand for Moroccan families”.
