Denimsandjeans Vietnam logs 1,000 visitors

Event organiser Denimsandjeans has recapped how exhibitors from around 35 denim-focused businesses, hailing from 12 countries, met with 1,000 visitors during its two-day Yogim trade fair in Ho Chi Minh City earlier this month.
Representatives from 250-plus companies including Levi’s, PVH, Target, Gap, Asmara, Li and Fung, Newtimes, Shein and Landmark were among the visitor total, founder Sandeep Agarwal said in his post-show report, all variously making the trip from China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Europe, the US, Vietnam itself and beyond. Denim manufacturers Soorty and Viet Hong each presented yoga, comfort and movement-friendly collections and day one attendees were treated to a special performance by jeanswear-clad local yogis.
A dedicated trend area spotlighted loose-fit jeans, performancewear styles, sustainable innovations and more, emphasising both look and functionality, as Mr Agarwal reported. Meanwhile, a business-to-consumer (B2C) ‘bazaar’ was set up to showcase “high-quality and ethically sourced” denim apparel and accessories made by domestic artisans and designers, providing local brands an opportunity to engage directly with attendees.
Seminar presentations delivered by a number of industry professionals including Alice Tonello, Nicolas Prophte and Serdar Demircioglu have been made available via Denimsandjeans’ YouTube channel here.
The list of exhibitors already confirmed for April’s event in Bangalore extends to Arvind, Garmon, Jeanologia, Pacific Jeans, Anubha Industries, Ashima, Lenzing, Hyosung, Orta, Ginni International, Bhaskar Denim, SF Dyes, Globalwash Creation, Zytex, Siyaram’s Den-Knit, Pioneer Denim and Polsan Button, plus many more.
Denim expert David Tring, our Jean Genie for Inside Denim issue nine, is also expected to discuss how to “reimagine” and “redesign” post-consumer fabric waste in a speech titled ‘It’s Only Waste if You Waste It’.
