Intertextile Apparel previews spring edition

Sustainable denim, functional fabrics and innovations in trims and trends are all set to impress at next month’s Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics (Intertextile Apparel) trade show.

Fair organisers Messe Frankfurt (HK), China’s Sub-Council of Textile Industry and state-owned research institution China Textile Information Center will host the upcoming spring edition slightly later than planned, from March 28 to 30.

Organic cotton denims from Turkey-based mill Bossa, manufactured using its SaveBlue dyeing system, are expected to be among the highlights from the event’s Beyond Denim section (hall 7.2), organisers said. According to Bossa, SaveBlue can result in water savings of 85%.

Several zones will focus exclusively on sustainability, such as the All About Sustainability area, where knitted "denim" fabric producer and specialist dyeing and finishing mill Shanghai Tiqiao Textile Yarn Dyeing will be found.

A dedicated Functional Lab in hall 5.1 will meanwhile showcase more performance-friendly materials. Local media suggested that graphene-enhanced polyester and nylons from Changzhou Henglibao Nano New Material Technology (Highbery) could prove particularly popular, while organisers singled out US polyamide 66 manufacturer Ascend Performance Materials’ antimicrobial Acteev fabric exhibit as a potential "standout".

International participants will generally be allocated booths inside hall 5.1, while domestic suppliers will be spaced across six halls, including hall 5.1, depending on product end use.

The three-day fair will once again run concurrently alongside Yarn Expo and Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
