Colourful Recycrom developments on show from Officina39

Textile industry chemicals supplier Officina39 introduced a further development of its Recycrom dyestuffs range at Kingpins in Amsterdam in April.

It first presented Recycrom, which uses recycled, used clothing and textile scraps as the raw material for the pigment powders in the range, in 2017.

The April 2023 innovation it introduced at Kingpins is Recycrom Ready To Dye. Officina39 has described this as a range of 15 standard, ready, in-stock colours, obtained from a minimum of 65% recycled pre- and post-consumer textile materials.

It said brands would also be able to work with Officina39 to make custom dyes from their own scraps and textile waste, with the chance to choose and create their own colours, assuring a true upcycling of textile waste without any chemical synthesis.

From 100 kilos of textile waste, the company said, it is possible to generate enough dye for 20,000 T-shirts.
