Zaki Saleemi departs CBL for Material Exchange
Denim industry veteran Zaki Saleemi has joined digital sourcing platform provider Material Exchange as the business' senior vice-president of global sales.
Canada-based Mr Saleemi most recently served as senior vice-president at Crescent Bahuman (CBL), a vertical denim producer headquartered in Lahore. Prior to CBL, he worked for several other Pakistani denim suppliers well-known to the industry, including Rajby, Neela Blue (Neela by Sapphire Fibres), US Apparel & Textiles and Gul Ahmed Textile Mills. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Commenting on the appointment, chief executive at Material Exchange, Darren Glenister, praised Mr Saleemi for the “wide range of valuable experiences” he had honed over his 20-plus years in fashion thus far.
“Zaki has managed a wide variety of global teams within sales, marketing, sustainability and more and we look forward to working with him as we transform fashion,” Mr Glenister said.
