US fashion brand Pacsun has announced that Brie Olson, named company co-chief executive in January, is set to become the business’ sole chief executive as of June 15.

Ms Olson was originally named co-chief executive alongside Mike Relich on March 9. She replaced Alfred Chang, who retired a day prior. Mr Relich, also now retiring, will step into the role of vice-chairman of the board.

Managing director at Pacsun owner Golden Gate Capital, Neale Attenborough, thanked Mr Relich for “his many contributions” since first joining, not least steering the company through covid-19, improving its omnichannel infrastructure and customer analytics tools, plus leading the brand’s entry into the Chinese market. “We are pleased that we will continue to benefit from Mike’s expertise in his capacity as vice-chairman of the board.”

Ms Olson similarly thanked her colleague for his partnership and said she looked forward to continuing their collaboration as members of the board of directors.

Additionally, a newly expanded remit for chief financial officer Russell Bowers will see him take on chief operating officer responsibilities, in charge of the brand’s information technology systems, finance and operations.
