Madewell appointment will ‘position brand for the future’

Thirty-year retail veteran Adrienne Lazarus (pictured) has assumed the role of president of jeanswear brand Madewell, owned by US casualwear group J Crew since the early 2000s.

Ms Lazarus, who until recently was also a senior adviser at consultancy McKinsey, will officially take the helm next month.

She will report to J Crew chief executive Libby Wadle directly.

“Adrienne’s exceptional leadership skills, creativity and passion for building relevant, customer-centric and purpose-driven brands will be a great asset to our team as Madewell continues to scale,” commented Ms Wadle. “Her strategic approach, entrepreneurial spirit and proven track record makes her the ideal leader to join Madewell as we position the brand for the future.

“We welcome Adrienne to the Madewell team and look forward to her many contributions.”
