DyStar announces Eco-Advanced Indigo Dyeing
Speciality chemicals group DyStar has launched a new product, Eco-Advanced Indigo Dyeing, which it says can be applied to traditional indigo dyeing, sulphur dyes and coloured denim processes.
This latest innovation can lead to reductions of up to 90% in water usage and as much as 30% less energy consumption during production, the Singapore-based company explained.
Global technical manager for the business' denim division, Naceur Azraq, described the product as “an advanced sustainable indigo dyeing technology”, capable of supporting the industry in “sav[ing] valuable natural resources”.
Last month, DyStar announced plans to “restructure” its indigo dye manufacturing plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany, as part of a new strategy to “diversify production activity out of Europe”.
