Bonobos sells for $75 million
Menswear brand Bonobos has been acquired by brand management company WHP Global, also based in New York, in partnership with Columbus, Ohio-headquartered retailer Express, for $75 million in total.
The brand, founded in 2007, has been owned by Walmart since 2017, who bought it for $310 million. It is well-regarded for its trousers and the fit of its jeans, which range from stretch denims to premium-priced selvedge.
Having paid $50 million, WHP is now the owner of the Bonobos brand.
Express contributed the remaining $25 million through purchasing the business' operating assets.
