Madewell kicks off major denim ‘refresh' for spring

US premium denim label Madewell has initiated the first instalment of its “100-plus denim style refresh”, part of a phased springtime roll-out.
The brand, which said it is “on a mission to prove that the perfect jeans do exist”, marked the occasion with the launch of its Cone-made, full-length Kick Out jean, a bootcut version of a cropped style by the same name. Available in four different washes, the fabric is 91% cotton, 6% recycled polyester and 3% elastane.
Outside of its core denim jean, shirt, jumpsuit, jacket, overall and dress line-up, Madewell will round out the season with a limited-edition, hand-embellished Studs and Stones release, including an “upgraded” version of its 99% cotton, 1% elastane 90s Straight Jean style.
Further plans for this year of “going back to denim” include an extension of the company’s Denim Atelier, an online-offline custom fit and tailoring service.
