South Korean fibre manufacturer Hyosung’s US-based Fashion Design Center (FDC) has published its textile trend forecast for autumn-winter 2025-2026.

FDC general manager, Gary Oh, said he expects brands and retailers will be looking to meet customer-led demand for increased thermoregulation, “to help lower home energy expenses”, as well as more sustainable materials, citing macroeconomic concerns such as cost of living and the environment for context.

Consequently, the producer predicts an uptick in orders for its certified, regen-branded elastane, performance nylon and polyester yarns. This is in addition to its creora elastane portfolio, which includes creora bio-based.

Beyond thermally regulating fabrics and a continuation of the trend towards textiles blended from both natural fibres and bio-based synthetics, the team pointed to multi-functional, lightweight clothing and “apparel with barely-there feel [and] refined textures”.
