Hyosung heads to NYC

Korea-headquartered fibre manufacturer Hyosung will be exhibiting its Creora and spandex stretch solutions at Kingpins NYC this week (January 22 and 23).

Its expanded Regen Bio Spandex offerings are made with renewable resource content (see Inside Denim’s feature); one of the main components, BDO, is derived from sugar cane, after the group announced a $1 billion investment in bio-based materials.

The company will also showcase its RCS-certified, 100% recycled Regen spandex made from industrial waste; Creora 3D Max Spandex that delivers excellent stretch and recovery with a very small portion of spandex content allowing the garment to be recycled, according to the Jeans Redesign project; and Creora Slip Free Spandex with improved seam slippage.

Simon Hong, Hyosung’s global denim marketing director, said: “Brands adopt diverse approaches to sustainability, ranging from recycled and bio-based materials to recyclable products, making it essential to offer tailored solutions that address their unique needs.”

Alongside the Kingpins team, it will decorate the Kingpins Boxes displayed with garments made from Levi's 501 deadstock and laser-washed art pieces. The company will also host the Future Fits Forum, a seminar discussing denim fashion trends for the next five years, on January 22.
