Double denim for American Eagle and Aerie
American Eagle and Aerie, the two main brands of American Eagle Outfitters, take the double denim trend to a new level with their first collaboration. The limited-edition range features 34 items that reproduce authentic blue jean aesthetics onto a range of outerwear, underwear and activewear.

Tapping the “particularly strong jeans cycle,” Jennifer Foyle, president and creative director of the two brands said: “A Match Made in Denim combines the best of our iconic American Eagle jeans and the buttery softness that makes our Aerie intimates fan favourites by using the magic of innovative technology.”

One of the technologies the brands’ designers used to create the denim effect is known as “cool transfer” which transposes the characteristics of American Eagle denims to other types of fabrics. The team is also said to have used special dyeing and washing processes to combine the denim look with a soft, comfortable hand feel.
