Cheap Monday returns after 5-year hiatus
Scandinavian denim brand Cheap Monday is preparing its market relaunch later this week, under the wings of Weekday, another H&M-owned company, and with a campaign fronted by singer-songwriter Nessa Barrett.

H&M shuttered Cheap Monday operations five years ago, citing its wholesale model challenging growth in a changing fashion retail context. The Swedish fashion group had acquired the label, along with Weekday and Monki, in 2008 when it bought Fabric Scandinavian.

“Our debut drop is genre-defying denim, showcasing styles from indie sleaze stretch
and bootcut to radically loose and anti-fit rigid designs. We’ve played with
finishes like dirt, spray, worn and torn in shades of blue, black, and grey. These
jeans capture the essence of Cheap Monday,” said Alice Shulman, design lead.
