Cotton consultant lauded for ‘transformative contributions’

Cotton consultant Dr Andrew Jordan has been awarded the 2024 honoree for the Cotton Research and Promotion Hall of Fame.

The programme was established in 1966 to expand the demand for upland cotton and to increase profitability for cotton growers and importers of cotton products.

Dr Jordan has been recognised for his extensive contributions to agricultural sustainability, environmental stewardship and leadership within the cotton sector.

As a consultant to Cotton Incorporated, he has been instrumental in advancing innovative farming practices that promote sustainability and economic viability for cotton growers.

He currently serves as senior scientist for the US Cotton Trust Protocol, providing guidance on research, policy and sustainability initiatives. He is also the executive director of the Cotton Growers Warehouse Association, an advisor to AgLaunch (an agribusiness technology accelerator), a science director for Secure Food Solutions, and a director for Agricenter International in Tennessee.

William Kimbrell, CEO of Cotton Incorporated, said: “Dr Andrew Jordan’s contributions to the cotton industry have been transformative. His leadership and dedication to responsible cotton production continue to set new standards for the industry, and we are proud to honour his remarkable achievements.”
